This band is a favorite in Maryland and Delaware casinos and in the D.C. area, but Carroll County will get the royal treatment this July when Gringo Jingo Santana Tribute takes the stage in Westminster City Park this July. What’s the big deal? Well, you probably know these guys already, if you are Carrollcountylive.com regular. This tribute has members from Half Serious, Sideways, Problem Child, Scarlet Angel, together with some veteran players from the Latin music scene in Baltimore including two music professors. It takes that many people to reproduce the music of Carlos Santana, and they do it exceptionally well. They have graced the stages of Maryland Live, Harrington Casino, Bethesda Jazz & Blues Club, and the Horseshoe Casino downtown. If you were lucky, you might have caught them at this year’s Ocean City Springfest.
The upcoming July show will be a homecoming of sorts, since most of the band members live and play music in the Carroll area. So this may be your last chance in a long time to see this first-rate act. The show starts at 6:45 in Westminster City Park (11 Longwell Avenue) on Sunday, July 16th. More info here. Come early, stay late, bring your dancing shoes. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek.
