What You Missed Last Weekend (Video): Football Tears Dry Easy with these 2 Bands

Here’s What You Missed . . .

It was just another day at the office for Half Serious last Saturday when they performed at the Littlestown Eagles. The boys did a great job cheering up all of the pouting Steelers fans and freshly devestated Ravens fans with a little help from Steel Members Chris Redding and Aaron Zimmerman. Watch them cover a little AC/DC.

Best Bets this Weekend: RAT PACK at Bare Bones Grill Ellicott City)

The RAT PACK will be at Bare Bones in Ellicott City this Sat Jan. 10th.

After seeing / hearing these guys at Stanstock II last year, you will want to hear more. The lead guitarist Rick Olaguer, is well…mesmerizing. Take a peek at this Stanstock bootleg and see if you agree.

What You Missed: Mantrum’s New Year’s Good-Bye

Here’s What You Missed . . .

New Years Eve at Stables Restaurant in Westminster was bittersweet for some Mantrum fans as the close of the year marked the end of Mantrum’s run; at least for now. Some members had to call it quits as the time commitment – working all those weekends and practicing in the evenings, was just too demanding.

Working as a musician is almost always a part-time thing and you have to be absolutely in love with it to even have a chance at success. Mantrum made it work for some time, but then sometimes life gets in the way.

The band’s vocalist, Terri Caperton-Dougherty is not ready to call quits though, this gig was bittersweet for her. She tells CCL “I had a great time that night until the last line of the last song, and then it hit me like a ton of bricks .” If she has anything to say about it, we will see her on stage in the near future. As for Mantrum, maybe they will do a reunion show at Stanstock later this year. They were a hit there in 2014. Sound like a good idea? Let us know in the comments!

In the meantime, enjoy this video and pics from the show.

Video: New Year’s Eve Brings the “Thunder”

If you spent New Year’s Eve at the McSherrystown Moose Club count yourself among the luckiest folks around. It was safe, noone lost their lunch in the bathroom (as far as we can tell), there were no shootings or protesters, just lots of good old-fashioned fun. In fact, one distinguished gentleman’s luck went off the charts.

Half Serious headlined this event but there were lots of talented musicians in the crowd and the boys love to share the spotlight. Three members of Big Jack whipped the crowd into frenzy with this version of “Thunderstruck”. Watch the video (below).

What You Missed On New Year’s Eve: Serious Fun with Half Serious

Here’s What You Missed . . .

Half Serious dressed up and jammed into 2015 on New Year’s Eve at the McSherrystown Moose. It was a packed house with lots of holiday cheer and special guests. It seemed as though everyone was ready to leave 2015 behind, and they did it with a bang. We’ve got pics of the revelry here.

New Year’s eve was also the last “official” night with Half Serious’s bass player Tony Bitzel. He is hanging up his bass after the New Years show to spend more time with his family, but he will always be close by, lurking in the shadows we are sure. He will be missed by many but especially his bandmates, who presented him with an commemorative plaque.

Were you there? Give us a shout and tell us how it was!
