What You Missed Last Weekend: Gringo Jingo Does Horseshoe and Tally Ho

Here’s What You Missed . . .

Last weekend you missed a lot of great live shows; CORE packed the house at Stables on Saturday and Army of Dogs brought on special guest 16 yr old metal goddess Lauren Hill. She plays a ripping guitar and believes “Playing badass music is always a great way to escape the stresses of life.”  If you’ve never seen her, you will want to put that on your bucket list.

While those guys kept you busy in the local area, a few other local musicians you enjoy were blazing a trail from Baltimore to Leesburg, Va. That’s right, Gringo Jingo Santana Tribute band hit the road last week stopping first to christen the stage at the new Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore on Wednesday night and for an epic show at the Tally Ho Theatre in Leesburg on Friday.

This band, which includes Abby Otradovec who you can see fronting Problem Child and Scarlet Angel, and three, yes count them three members of local Favorite Half Serious (Don Ebaugh, Chris Myers and Steve Reed) has its roots in the Carroll area, but is quickly cultivating a regional presence.

Not yet together for a year, Gringo Jingo is really making a name for itself. Every show introduces the band to a new bunch of fans but the support of the people who know and love these musicians from their other local projects is what they thrive on and the support has been amazing so far. People who show up for Half Serious, Scarlet Angel and Problem Child are showing up for Gringo Jingo.

Another local musician, Mike Dodd from popular AC/DC Tribute Big Jack wrote to us a while ago and said “I firmly believe some of the best musicians in Maryland have come from Carroll County over the years..” We agree, and Gringo Jingo is the perfect example. If you missed the show don’t worry, they are busy scheduling for a full year of Santana hits in 2015.

Right now you can catch Half Serious this Friday at Stables –we hear its gonna be special celebration, Problem Child will be at the Coon Club on Dec 6th and Scarlet Angel rocks Belisimos on Dec 13th. Make your plans accordingly and in the meantime check out the pics and video.
